"Landmarks of Zanesville" Series

Built in 1900 by William Schultz, a prominent soap manufacturer, as a wedding gift to his wife Ethel. Once noted for elaborate New Year's Eve parties, the mansion consists of 26 rooms, a carriage house and several gardens.

Landmarks of Zanesville" Series

Putnam High School, depicted here on its inauguration in 1853. It later became Madison Elementary school in the 1870's after the city of Zanesville annexed the Putnam district. It's now James Madison adult education center.

 "Church Street, Charleston S.C."

  I was walking around Charleston at twilight one balmy June evening and was struck by the way the steeple of St. Michael's Episcopal Church was glowing. The church,built in 1761, has survived pirates, two occupations, a fire, and an earthquake.
